Step

1

Look and Feel: Customizing Your Materials

When creating your custom kitchen, you have complete flexibility in choosing the brand, colour, and finish of your materials—giving you full control to achieve the perfect look and feel for your space.

Select Your Brand and Colour

For your custom door and drawer fronts, as well as laminated benchtops, we offer products from leading brands including Laminex, Polytec, Formica, and StyleLite.

You can explore the full range of available colours by selecting the link for your preferred brand.

Choosing Materials That Fit Your Budget

Your choice of materials will significantly influence the overall cost of your kitchen. The most cost-effective option is melamine/laminate board (cut and edged). For a mid-range price point, thermo-laminated/vinyl wrap is a popular choice. At the premium end, 2 Pack Painted (2PAC) offers a high-quality, durable finish.

Design Your Ideal Finish

The finishes you choose will depend on the material selected:

  • Laminate / Melamine: Choose from Matte, Semi-Gloss, High Gloss, or Textured surfaces to achieve your desired look.
  • 2 Pack Painted or Thermo-laminated Vinyl: Decide between flat or profiled panels, which are ideal for styles such as Hamptons or other decorative designs.
Step

2

Benchtops

When designing your flat pack kitchen with Affordable Flat Packs, you can choose a laminated benchtop from leading brands such as Laminex, Polytec, and Formica. If you prefer a stone benchtop, this will need to be sourced separately from a stonemason.

Step

3

Hardware

For all functional fittings, we use only premium-quality hardware from our trusted partner, Blum.

For your kitchen drawers, you can choose between standard runners or the soft-close option. Each choice comes at a different price point, and our team can provide detailed quotes for both to help you select the option that best suits your budget.

Step

4

Your Project Blueprint

At the quoting stage, you just need to provide approximate measurements of your space. While precise dimensions will be needed later, we can provide an accurate estimate based on the length and width of your area along with a rough sketch of your planned cabinetry. This allows your project planning to get off to a quick start.

Providing a Minimum Layout

At this stage, we ask that you provide a simple plan view showing your desired kitchen layout with approximate dimensions. You can also include elevation drawings to indicate vertical measurements and illustrate the intended arrangement of your cabinetry.

Providing Basic Dimensions

Don’t worry about complicated plans—getting started is simple. For your initial quote, we only need the basic room measurements: width, height, and depth. If it helps, you can use the graph paper on page 4 to sketch the room boundaries and roughly position your cabinetry layout.

Step

5

Finalizing Your Order

When you’re ready to move forward, our order form will walk you through all the selections needed for an accurate quote. Here, you’ll confirm your choices for cabinetry brand, colour, material, and finish, as well as benchtops and hardware. The form also provides graph paper and standard allowances to ensure every detail is captured for a precise quote.
